What it’s like to be in therapy with me
Seeking therapy can be an intimidating process. Allowing ourselves to be vulnerable to someone new, especially when going through a stressful time, can be overwhelming. In therapy, I work hard to create a safe and supportive environment, while understanding that the process of forming an effective working alliance should never be rushed. Once a collaborative relationship is developed, I encourage my clients to explore hidden parts of their true selves that have been shielded from years of adversity and trauma. In doing so, together we can uncover strengths and resiliencies, and channel them into tackling present stressors that may be manifesting in issues such as depression and anxiety.
How I approach therapy
I believe that we strive for a deeper connection to others, our surroundings, and most importantly, to ourselves, which is why I believe that therapy can be used as a vessel to explore unfulfilled needs and discover our most authentic selves. Often times, we are faced with adversities in childhood and throughout adulthood that can impact how we process current events. We may harbor memories of these adversities which can form our way of viewing the world and ourselves without fully realizing it or understanding why. In working to bring these potentially negative beliefs to the surface, we would also work to reprocess these memories more adaptively so that there can be healing from emotional pain.

To each of us, this may look different but to me, my happiness stems from the family and friends I keep close to my heart.
