Take Root Therapy November Newsletter

We explore betrayal trauma, serve love together, and learn about separation anxiety in relationships.

A Letter From Our Founder

Hi all,

It is still technically November for just a few minutes, and I am ready for it to end. I am tired, both physically and emotionally. Last week, I was eager to have a few days off with my family. Then, I woke up on Thursday morning with the flu. My body needed me to slow down and care for it, and I did. I slept and watched every imaginable thing and read and slept some more. And I recovered. I am forever astounded at our ability to recover from things.

This month’s blog article is on betrayal and betrayal trauma. Specifically, we provide a framework to understand it and some suggestions for recovering from it. I know that when I have felt betrayed, it didn’t seem like I would ever recover. But I did, just as I recovered from the flu. I hope that if you’re struggling with betrayal (or if you do in the future), this article will remind you that you’re not alone and will also help you. Please reach out if you need additional support in this area or with anything else. Our email address is info@takeroottherapy.com, and you can reach us by phone or text at (323) 388-5578.

Wishing you some ease as we step into December together.

Warmly,
Saba Harouni Lurie (she/her/hers)

Not a single incident is easy to recall or write about, but I can still feel the sting and remember the nights spent ruminating…
